  • Five Tips To Avoid Free Radicals
    Free Radicals contribute to aging

Free radicals, unstable molecules that we absorb in our body, are unavoidable. These unstable molecules contribute to aging and even disease. There are some steps you can take to avoid free radicals to cut down your exposure.

    1. Eat right. A high-fat diet can create free radicals. Eat plenty of foods with antioxidants, such as vegetables and fruits.

    2. Stay away from cigarette smoke. If you smoke, stop. If you don't smoke, don't allow others to smoke in your home. Making your house non-smoking will cut down on your exposure to free radicals.

    3. Cut down on alcohol. Excessive alcohol use also increases the number of free radicals in your body. Avoid drinking more than one or two alcoholic beverages a day at the most.

    4. Avoid processed foods. Cook at least one meal at home every day, using fresh vegetables. Processed foods contain chemicals that contribute to the free radicals in your system. A general rule of thumb is that if you read something unfamiliar on a food label, it's probably a processed food.

    5. Stress also leads to the creation of free radicals. Simplify your life! Take at least 30 minutes every day for yourself, with no interruptions. Create some sacred space in your home just for this purpose - it can be something as simple as a comfortable chair with a table and a candle where you can close your eyes and relax. Try a yoga or martial arts class.

Although cutting back your exposure to free radicals helps, there are some factors, like radiation, which comes from your computer screen and television, and pollution, which you have no control over, that create free radicals that your body absorbs. Taking an antioxidant will help your body rid itself of free radicals to help prolong youth and keep you healthy!
