Why do I need Antioxidants?
OPC Free Radical Fighter

Many people today go to great lengths to take excellent care of their bodies. They try to eat right, exercise and get enough rest. But even making a conscious effort to take care of ourselves isn't enough. Too many variables are beyond our control, and that's why it's important to supplement even a very healthy diet with antioxidants

Antioxidants help protect our bodies against free radicals caused by environmental pollution, second-hand smoke, burns, infection, stress and radiation - all things we have very little control over. Free radicals attack tissues, degrade collagen and reprogram DNA. Some researchers even suspect that they could be the underlying cause for almost every disease. Free radicals contribute to premature aging, arthritis, circulatory disorders, diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, heart disease, arteriosclerosis and more.

Antioxidants found in food protect our cells and tissues from damaging interactions with oxygen free-radicals. The most common antioxidant nutrients include vitamins A, C, E, zinc, selenium and betacarotene. These nutrients increase the action of enzymes that naturally defend us from free radicals..

Vitamins in food naturally protect us from free radicals, but it's very difficult to get the amounts we need for optimum health from food alone. That's why Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), a natural compound found in grape seeds and pine bark, is such a miracle. OPCs contain antioxidant protection that is 50 times more powerful than vitamin E and 20 times more powerful than vitamin C. It also helps all the antioxidants you consume work better!

OPCs are very powerful non-toxic, water-soluble bioflavanoids -- complex organic plant compounds found primarily in fruits, vegetables and particular tree barks. They are powerful antioxidants and help kick-start the body's immune response to inflammation, allergens and infection. There are more than 20,000 different types of bioflavanoids. OPCs are considered the ones with the most powerful antioxidant properties.
